Chris is a Patent Engineer and a part-qualified European patent attorney. Chris is currently preparing to sit the finals of the EPO’s European Qualifying Examinations (EQE). Chris is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE).
Prior to entering the patent profession, Chris worked in the area of antenna systems and design, semiconductor process and fabrication for 90nm and 65nm technologies with companies such as Intel and Taoglas. In his role within the semiconductor sector, Chris gained exposure at each stage of the fabrication process from the Front End processes to Far Back End processes whilst being involved in numerous yield improvement projects within these stages of the fabrication process. In his role as an Antenna Engineer, Chris was involved in dealing with clients during initial phase of their system designs through to the final stages where he provided engineering support, from wireless system testing through to antenna integration or design, to successfully enable his clients to meet the required wireless performance for their products. Before joining Hanna Moore + Curley Chris previously worked as a senior patent analyst in a patent monetisation firm where he was involved in reviewing patent portfolios, drafting claim charts and infringement analysis reports. This role also involved providing technical support for litigation cases during his time as a senior patent analyst.
Since joining the profession in 2014, Chris has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for clients ranging from local SME businesses to larger multi-national companies. Chris’s areas of expertise include antennas, semiconductor fabrication processes and devices, electronics, wireless technologies, mechanical systems, 3D printing, medical devices and optics.
